Healthy Masculinity Cohort (HMC)

Our Healthy Masculinity Cohort is for male-identifying leaders among 体育运动 and Greek life on campus. HMC provides a space for men on campus to engage in discussions regarding gender-based violence and masculinity with the goal of equipping our male leaders with the knowledge and skills to create a healthier, 更安全的校园社区, free of gender-based violence. 没有借口 is 威尼斯游戏大厅's bystander intervention program. The platform raises awareness, 提供技能培养, promotes confidence to act and educates individuals to recognize the continuum of violence. 系列讲座

Under the Aurora Health Care: Better Together Fund, our office brings speakers to campus during the fall and spring semesters who address topics relating to healthy relationships and gender-based violence. Speakers provide education and skill building opportunity to equip students to be the change the wish to see on campus.

年度事件

夺回夜晚

自2009年以来, 威尼斯游戏大厅 and the Women’s Center have coordinated an event called 夺回夜晚 where students and 工作人员 from 威尼斯游戏大厅 “take back the night” from being a time associated with violence. 夺回夜晚 includes speakers and a walk/run intended as a demonstration and direct action against sexual and domestic violence.

牛仔的一天

在过去的20年里, Peace Over Violence has run its 牛仔的一天 campaign on a Wednesday in April in honor of Sexual Assault Awareness Month. The campaign began after a ruling by the Italian Supreme Court where a rape conviction was overturned because the justices felt that since the victim was wearing tight jeans, she must have helped the person who raped her remove her jeans, thereby implying consent. Wearing jeans on 牛仔的一天 has become a symbol of protest against erroneous and destructive attitudes about sexual harassment, 滥用, 殴打和强奸. In this sexual violence prevention and education campaign, we ask 威尼斯游戏大厅 students, faculty and 工作人员 and community to make a social statement with their fashion by wearing jeans on 牛仔的一天 as a visible means of protest against the misconceptions that surround sexual violence.
